On thursday evening my wife and I went to the Kristin Chenoweth Concert at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Too much talking not enough singing her hits from her Broadway plays how about Promises, Promises that should have been sung. Great voice but didn’t hear the songs I would have liked to sadly. She’s a lovely person with a beautiful voice wanted to hear more. But loved being able to see her and enjoyed most if it

loved the song selections and her stories. Particularly loved her generosity of inviting young local performers to sing with her on stage. Such a feel good show.

We loved the show. She did 90 minutes of non stop entertainment.

The problem with this show is that it was billed as an evening with Kristin. Instead there was an hour of the Children’s choir and then and hour of Kristin.
Not saying the Children’s Choir wasn’t good just this show was not as advertised.
Paid $300 for a meet and greet, Kristin was very nice, but the so called professional photographer was a disaster and missed many shots.

I expected the music to be flawless, and it was. What I didn’t expect was how completely engaged she was with the audience: funny, sentimental, humble, comfortable with discussing her faith. And the range of her talent was incredible–her rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Little Sparrow” was, to me, the highlight of the show. All in all, amazing evening that completely exceeded my expectations!

When I purchased tickets, it was for Kristin,. Imagine my surprise when I actually attended and found that the Jacksonville Children’s Choir would take up more than half the concert. They were great, but not what I paid for. Kristin was terrific.

Awesome concert! She performed with the Jacksonville Children’s Choir of which I had worked with 3 of the kid’s in past theatrical productions. All I could think was what an amazing experience for these kid’s they will treasure it their entire lives. She was so sweet to them and treated them as equals. Absolutely one of the best concerts I’ve been to in while.

Having bought tickets to Kristin Chenowith ” coming home tour” I was filled excited to see one of Americas best talents performing live in our city. I did not realize however, that I would have to sit through an hour of local children’s choirs singing before her appearance

First let me say she is a talented performer.
But using the concert as a platform for commentary on gun violence, religion
Homosexuality and plugging a home for young musicians made for an unentertaining evening. I went to the concert to be entertained not preached to.
It would have been better if there was more singing of recognizable songs and less showing off of her voice.
Finally others who have reviewed the concert loved the Jacksonville choir concept
For me it just added more of the forced time in a gospal church setting
They were all fine kids I suppose, but this was a big time show with big time price tickets
They represented 30 minutes of a 90 min concert singing backup with her
    Not appropriate

Kristen Chenoweth was absolutely amazing! I have never attended a concert where a performer has received so many standing ovations during one show. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre also added to the experience. This is a beautiful venue and paired with such an extremely talented artist, it made for an INCREDIBLE evening. In addition to her unbelievable talent was her personality which made me feel so welcome and appreciated to be sitting there enjoying her performance. She is truly a beautiful, talented, remarkable artist and human being which makes the joy of being in her presence to share an incredible night of what she loves with her was an absolute enchanting evening of bliss.

Miss Chenoweth is a very versatile talent who can sing most any genre (though, we love her especially in Broadway). She is funny, witty, and ultra-talented, with a solid set of pipes on her that can open and fill an entire theater. Her musicians played very well, also. We had an excellent time!

I would had given this concert 5 stars, but the Sound Enginner didn’t appear he knew what he was doing. After 4 songs in, he figured out that the Kristin’s monitor pointing towards the audience needed to be turned ON. We couldn’t hear a damn thing until then.

The evening was phenomenal. There aren’t too many performers I would pay to go see in concert, but Kristin’s the Real Deal! She has killer pipes and her voice is one of the best I’ve ever heard. She relates to the audience and seems to genuinely enjoy performing. The banter and conversation showed that. Acting, singing, dancing – she’s a triple threat!
She should come back annually, I’d go every year to see this little powerhouse!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this evening. Great way to spend our anniversary!

Funny, smart, gracious and packing the most beautiful and versatile singing voice in the world, Kristin Chenoweth is an extraordinary talent who puts on a spectacular show. There is nothing she can’t sing, infusing every song with the perfect balance of pathos and humor. While I have seen her perform in several extraordinary stage productions, this was so much better because it was all Kristin. Don’t even think about it. Just go see this singularly talented women work her magic the first opportunity you have. You will never be disappointed.

Kristin is a great singer. Her songs were beautiful but the show was a bit bland. 90 minutes of 1/2 talk and 1/2 songs.

Take away her incredible voice and what do you have left? An evening with Kristin Chenoweth, a funny, warm, witty, charming, attractive entertainer. From the moment she steeped on stage she was engaging and the audience loved her. She looked great , she sounded great, and put on a show that was well worth the time and investment to get out and see.

Kristin Chenoweth is a great entertainer, with an amazing voice, charming personality, and unlimited energy…and she showed it all on Thursday night. Her range, her exuberance, her life experiences, her cute stories were all on display. The show was exciting, vibrant and fun, yet something was missing. The problem with the show wasn’t Kristin, but rather the act itself, which may have been too self-indulgent. She didn’t sing the showstoppers, but rather personal favorites from popular shows or artists. Several of her stories about personal loss really brought the audience down. Her band, lacking the power of a horn section, was insufficient for a theater the size of the Au-Rene. Her encore selection was awful. This review is certainly a contradiction. My wife and I had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the evening, yet, we both agreed that with a little tweaking it could have been a blockbuster.

Kristin Chenoweth was an incredible performer and entertainer and sang all our favorite songs as though she was singing from our play list. Only complaint is that we do not have a recording – would have loved to have it the song “For Good” for my daughter to remember the event by.
