Biography

The Drifters are a long-lasting American doo-wop and R&B/soul vocal group. They were originally formed to serve as a backing group for Clyde McPhatter (of Billy Ward and his Dominoes) in 1953.According to Rolling Stone magazine, the Drifters were the least stable of the great vocal groups, as they were low-paid musicians hired by George Treadwell, who owned the Drifters name. This was a super concert by three legendary groups !! The groups were The Drifters, The Coasters, and The Platters. All three put on a great concert !!

The music was enjoyable. Both groups were entertaining. However, it was too loud.

Last Sunday I continued with what is becoming sort of a regular thing. My daughter and I headed off to the casino show room for a Sunday afternoon show and then used some of my free rooms to spend the night. They book in older acts for 3pm shows charge low prices, so it’s a good value. This time we saw The Coasters, Drifters and Dixie Cups. $10 tickets and we were able to move to 5th row, not a bad deal!

Saw the Happenings, Lou Christie, and the Drifters on Sun. Jan. 17,2016. All three acts were exceptional. They did all of there hits and more. They all sounded the same as they did years ago. Lou Christie was great hitting every note. A great, enjoyable, night out.

What a pleasure to see this group from my childhood. Songs that I remember with gratitude. It was hard not to sing along. Next year, bring back The Platters.

Group of four of us enjoyed our booth seating and truly enjoyed all of the music provided. Only complaint from our group was that it was a bit too loud. Great concert!

What a fantastic, fun-filled night. Singing to the oldies, enjoying their stories and remembering days gone by.

Absolutely the most entertaining concert I have attended in a long time. The Coasters were so full of energy and talent, I wish they were on longer. The Drifters brought me back to my teenage years. Loved both groups. Thank you for bringing them to Laughlin.
