Biography

The Drifters are a long-lasting American doo-wop and R&B/soul vocal group. They were originally formed to serve as a backing group for Clyde McPhatter (of Billy Ward and his Dominoes) in 1953.According to Rolling Stone magazine, the Drifters were the least stable of the great vocal groups, as they were low-paid musicians hired by George Treadwell, who owned the Drifters name. I have wanted to see the Drifters for a very long time. I got to see them at The Canyon in Agoura Hills. Very nice venue with good food (I had the ribeye). Then sit back and enjoy the songs we remember from days past (my favorite is ‘Under the Boardwalk’)
Has a dance floor if you want to dance to their music.

We were expecting the Drifters to some what sound like the Drifters from years gone by. Sorry, not even close. Music overpowered vocals. The songs they sang weren’t even theirs. To my wife and I the show was unbearable. We left 1/2 hour into the show which was also intermission. Sorry Drifters, your history in our book.

The show was just allright. The biggest problem was that the event was from 9:00 until ?

Took us back to the 60’s. Danced like fools. I’ll never forget New Years 2012 at Harrah’s
