It was amazing to finally see them live, they brought in the largest energy fueled crowd and I loved every minute of it. Thanks to livenation, I got to enjoy the shop via VIP.

I had never heard of any of the bands other than Wintersun. After having driven from South Dakota just to see them, I was pleasantly surprised with the intensity of the other bands. Traffic in Chicago was terrible like always. It was all well worth the showmanship and artistry that happened that night. I have been waiting for years for the chance to see Wintersun perform live in the midwest, and it exceeded the expectations I had by far. Arsis and Starkill got the crowd riled up almost immediately with an explosion of force and heavy rhythms. Fleshgod Apocalypse came out as fancy undead wrecking balls…shattering any inhibitions left in the crowd. Wintersun topped the night off with my favorite songs…AMAZING original (not on the album) solo’s and energy from the band, and a tinge of Neil Diamond, and Smashing Pumpkins just to show off how versatile and amazing they are together. Now that I’ve seen these guys live, I have added to my bucket list that I must see them again, even if I have to fly to Finland heh.

Enjoyed show. All bands gave it their all starting with Starkill, who were a great surprise. First time to see Arsis despite having all of their CD’s and the infamous EP Diamond for Disease. Fleshgod brought a new level to head-twirling, I thought the bass player’s head was on a swivel. Wintersun closed with a nice long set that satisfied their fans, many were singing along.

Great venue. The sound downstairs is a little over-bassed, so in certain spots you can only hear the kickdrum. People can crowd-surf and stage-dive.

They are by far the best at what they do. Even the opening bands rocked.
